Apple recently released iOS 14.7 after several weeks of beta testing. It's a small update, but with some noticeable features.
So What's New In iOS 14.7?
Well apart from fixing some bugs and security vulnerabilities, there are some of the new features such as:
External Battery Support
If you are an Apple fan then you must have heard about Apple's new battery that can be attached to any model of the iPhone 12 series with the help of magnets, for the phone to get some additional energy.
So with the new iOS 14.7 iPhone 12 users will get the external MagSafe battery support. Users will also be able to view the charge level of the MagSafe Battery Pack through the Batteries widget on the home screen.
HomePod Improved Functionality
There are small improvements for the HomePod smart speaker: With iOS 14.7, there is now a function to manage the HomePod timer.
This option allows you to manage the timers on the HomePod through the Home app.
Apple Card
The company announced Apple Card Family sharing in April and added support for the feature with its iOS 14.6 update.
In the iOS 14.7 update however, it extends this functionality by adding support for merging two Apple cards.
So now users will have the option to combine credit limits and share one co-owned account with an existing card user.
Podcasts Update
The Podcasts library in the Podcasts app now allows users to view all shows or only the ones which they follow specifically.
Some Bugs Fixing
The bugs that iOS 14.7 fixes include issues with Apple Music, including lossless playback.
A bug that could cause the sharing playlist menu option to disappear in Apple Music has been fixed as well.
Also, the battery status indicator on the iPhone 11 should now work properly again.
Security Updates
Security updates are also distributed with iOS 14.7.
