Now Measure Blood Sugar Level With Your Smartwatch!
Smartwatches are growing every year and so is the advancement in their technology. More and more tech brands are launching their own smartwatches with features and prices at very competitive rates.
As we have all seen since the past few years, smartwatches focus more on health and there are many health tracking watches suitable for everyone i.e., seniors, youngsters, men, and women.
These lightweight wrist gadgets track your heart rate for 24hrs, blood oxygen levels, offer various tracking modes for exercises and sports. The list just goes on.
And now in continuation of the trend, the smartwatches will now also be able to measure your blood sugar level. Amazing! Isn't it?
What's more interesting here is the fact that this measuring of the blood sugar level will not be dependent on piercing your skin with a needle. The watches will use one specialized sensor which will measure your blood sugar level through your sweat. The objective is to provide a solution that facilitates this measurement for people with diabetes.
Indeed it will be a great feature as it will allow diabetic people to lead an active lifestyle and take timely measures to stabilize blood glucose levels.
There could be a possibility that initially, the cost of such types of smartwatches may be higher than other smartwatches, or higher than that of a regular glucometer, but at least, you will only have to spend only once since you would not be required to purchase consumables and neither would you have to go through with the hassle of carrying the glucometer and the test strips everywhere.
The feature of being able to measure blood sugar via the smartwatch is really impressive because one can keep an eye on his or her health on the go and can freely and safely live an active lifestyle.
This new function would certainly allow people with diabetes to quickly and easily know their blood sugar level in order to monitor their health.
Just imagine by simply putting a smartwatch on your wrist, and getting information about your blood pressure, heart rate, and now sugar levels, even more in real-time. Pretty impressive, practical, and useful at the same time.
Though the technology for non-invasive monitoring of blood sugar levels is not yet fully developed. However, as per various news channels and media sources, it's being claimed that big tech brands e.g. Apple and Samsung are working on this feature and that it may become one of the main features of the upcoming flagship smartwatches.
So what do you think, will this feature be really useful? Also, do you think some other brands may launch this feature first? Do share your thoughts in the comments below.
