These Major WhatsApp Updates Are Expected In 2021!
One of the most popular instant messaging application, WhatsApp is expected to bring a lot of new features in the coming days.
Here's a quick overview of these exciting upcoming WhatsApp features:
1. Audio/Video Calls Via Desktop
For all WhatsApp desktop users, this could be a big news as these users would easily be able to make audio/video calls from their computers. As per WABetaInfo, this feature is already been rolled out in beta mode for specific users. Since this feature is already being tested in beta, we could expect Whatsapp to extend this facility to all the rest of the users soon in the coming days.
2. Multi-Device Support
Currently, users can only use their WhatsApp account on a maximum of two devices at a time, e.g. a phone & a desktop, that too if your phone is also connected to the internet, for this feature to work.
However, after the new update users will then be able to add up to 4 devices using a single account and in addition, it would not be necessary for your phone to be in sync with the internet connection. What this means is that you will be able to use your WhatsApp on your phone, tablet & even on a PC, all at the same time, with the same WhatsApp account, without worrying about dependability on the source of the mobile app.
3. Mute Video
As of this time when you send someone a video or use any video as your WhatsApp status, there isn't any option to mute it. However, going forward the Facebook-owned WhatsApp is expected to provide this feature. So after the update comes, when you plan on sending any video or putting it as a WhatsApp status, a speaker icon would then be visible on the left side, near the file size and video duration details. You would then need to tap on that speaker icon to mute that video before sending it to someone or selecting it as your status.
4. Rejoin The Missed Group Call
Sometimes it does so happens that when we are invited to join a group WhatsApp call, we miss it due to 'n' number of reasons. And then in order for us to join that group call, everyone is supposed to end their call and make the group call connection again.
However, it is expected that with the new upcoming update, you would now be able to rejoin the missed group call without everyone going through the disconnection and reconnection process.

- Update To The Terms & Privacy Policy
- WhatsApp is expected to bring an updated terms and privacy policy on or nearby February 8, 2021, which the users would be required to agree, as not doing so could delete their account. The date, however, might be subject to change.
